Having enough storage space is a battle faced by many people and businesses. It is a problem which relates to not just homes, but to businesses as well. Introducing modular shelving
With the decline in fixed shelving and the need for flexibility, modular shelving has become a popular choice within a kitchen. Modular shelving usually comes as a flatpack or semi-fitted, so self-assembly is simple as the units literally snap and click into place – there’s no need for tools, making assembly quick and easy.
There are many advantages of introducing modular shelving into a kitchen. This includes mobility, versatility and the ability to remove shelving for washing, either through a dishwasher or in a sink. As these units are so versatile, they can be customized to fit an individual kitchens needs, whether that be adjusting the shelves to fit different sized packages on, or adding shelf dividers, edges and baskets.
There are several construction forms for the shelves, but they fit within two types – solid shelves and slatted shelves. A solid shelf is useful if small items are being stored, such as cooking utensils or small jars.
Slatted shelves are the more popular. These allow air to circulate freely around food, important in storing fresh food at ambient temperature and for coldroom storage. The slats allow for a good circulation of the cold air around the food.
